Smile to slur or not slur

I am sure this question has been asked so many time, one of you guys will direct me to the place in Wiki for the answer. To slur or not to slur, that is the question. Sometime I forget to slur, sometime I do not forget to slur at the time of the honeing process. After the shaving starts, I can not tell the difference between the blade I used the slur or the one I didn't use the slur. Juan.

A coticule stone will cut more with slurry.
You can run a coticule with slurry, with water or dry to obtain different results (grit)
