I have a Tormek T-7 and thought I would give it a go. I put electrical tape on the spine and lightly laid the blade on the turning stone and went to town.....

Flipped it back and forth from side to side and slowly set the bevel. With a little common sense and visual confirmation, I was able to get a good bevel set in a matter of minutes..... Then off to the 1k to tune it up.

Saved a bunch of time!

What you actually set is called a pre-bevel or a factory bevel (watch the Dovo vid) been using a similar system for quite awhile on razors that need heavy restoration...In fact the Dovo vid was where I got the original idea of how to set a bevel fast after Breadknifing and went from the 3 layers of tape and tons of hand work,(in the Wiki) to about the same thing you used... I only use this on restoration though, but for that it does save time...

Thanks Glen...... Guess I made a mistake in calling it "Bevel Setting" when in fact I am making a PRE-bevel. Thanks for clarifying that. Newbie mistake.... Sorry guys. Hope this will help things......

I am using the stock stone..... I adjust it with my Blue/Black DMT plate. Has been working well so far.
