just another update:
Tried shaving with the same blade again a couple days ago, touched up for a few laps on the LM then 20 laps on the WT with water followed by 20 with glycerine.......horrible, horrible, terribly uncomfortable shave. Haven't had razor burn that lasted like that in years

So, I figured something wasn't right. Today I took that razor (and one other just in case I still couldn't get this one right) right back to the bevel. Norton 1k/4k/8k then grabbed the LM again. Light as light could be I did 20 laps with a very light slurry, adding a couple drops of water every 5 laps, then 25 on plain water

I only did a single pass shave (WTG), but WOW! Smoothest blade I've shaved with yet, and my face feels (to the touch) like it usually feels after a wtg & xtg pass

I've done more practice honing in the past week than I have in the past 9 months, and have corrected a couple problems I was having...so I'm going to try taking this one further with the WT hone, but not until I have a few more shaves off this LM edge for comparison
