LM is easily at least 12000 grit, maybe up to 15K, judging from the edges as viewed under 200X microscope, IMHO.

I rehoned my razor on my Naniwa's 3,5,8,12 then DT/LM. 2 Passes to an extremely close shave. Only a hint of irritation. Less than then last shave. Again only a tiny bit. Very sharp. Im very pleased with this purchase.

I just realized the irritation is on my jaw with is usualy where i have a little. Stubborn hair growth pattern there.

I just honed an extra hollow on a Coticule, then 50 laps on the LM with water.....................Holy Cow!! This blade got so sharp and smooth it almost scared me!! A personal best.

I'm guessing that my Coticule is one of the 8-10k ones, so I went straight to the LM. Coming from from the Norton, I would have used the DT first.

shaved with the LM last night very smooth shave that stone provides alot of comfort. i would guesstimate the grit at 12+ and thats going off the sharpness. so it is some where inbetween 12k to 15k but its closer to the 12k end then the 15k

I would agree with that. Maybe if its lapped on finer grit sand paper or use oil we might be able to squeez out a little more from it.

yes your right rene oil would give a little more and stropping. i was shaving straight off the stone. so in my opinion the stone was worth every penny
