    Default C12k users

    Hello everyone I'm looking for c12k users and I'm new to honing and I tried to use my c12k today and killed my edge. So I was curious if I can get some help on how to use the c12k stone

    Is it lapped?

    I would guess that you probably lifted the spine a bit on one of the strokes or caught it on the edge of the hone, but it is just a guess.

    The PHIG/CH12k/WHatevah is very slow and takes 100+ strokes, but dulling your edge points to technique.

    If it's lapped, then it is just poor technique. Keep the blade flat and keep the pressure off. Flip it before you get to the end of the stone, so as not to drop the edge over the end of the stone. Also dont run off over the side of it too much either. There should always be enough of the blade flat on the stone to maintain the stability of the razor. Hope that is of some help.

    Just take it slow and easy then mate. You'll get it sorted in no time. It ain't rocket surgery afterall.
