Thread: Albania

Has anyone purchased a razor from Albania? Not that it is realistic to consider at a $400. starting price, but that Globusman is a beautiful razor.....gaudy in the good way....but Albania? It forces me to admit my ignorance of world geography but I know it is nowhere near Rockville, MD.

The seller has quite a high feedback with only 2 negatives. Seems like an antique dealer from Albania.
I haven't bought anything from there, but I can tell you that it's the poorest country in europe. It's located right across the Adriatic sea from the heel of Italy's 'boot'.
Some years ago in Italy I had a housemate from there - he went home for the christmas/new year holidays (it's a muslim country, but Italy closes pretty much for a month at that time) and brought back some quite nice home made olive oil - unfiltered and all

The razor is way too gaudy for my taste, but the pictures are quite good and don't show any issues.

If that was a razor that I wanted I would not let this sellers location deter me fom the purchase. The seller has some good looking items up for auction and has a good feedback rating. I would enquire about the shipping costs to your location. This is, obviously my opinion.

I just finished a 3/4 year tour next door to Albania in Kosovo. Most of Kosovo's population are ethnic Albanians they are good people. You see more Albanian flags flying in Kosovo than Kosovo flags. I would not worry about the location of the razor. Like mentioned above not that it matters it is a mostly Muslim country, they did not have much of a choice when the Ottomans rolled through and occupied most of the Balkans for a few hundred years. If you like it get it!

So WW234 did you end up winning the razor?

Never bid on it, I knew the razor was way out of my price range. I thought it was a looker and an unusual looker at that. I was surprised at the sellers location. Hey, do they still have the monkey bar in Pearl City?

I got to Oahu in late 1997 and I have never heard of a monkey bar in Pearl City. I just did a internet search and it looks like it closed in 1993.
