    Default Shifty sellers

Ordered what I was told was a Wade and Butcher full inch. First, it took the seller an entire week to ship out my item, when it clearly stated on the item description they ship within 3 days of payment (I paid immediately). Sent them several messages throughout the week, no answer. Then they mark it as shipped and it shows up in two days. RAZOR IS NOT AN INCH WIDE!!! AND IT'S BEEN SHORTENED!!! Wtf. So I just sent them a message asking for a refund. I can't believe they lied to me, and hid the fact that it had been shortened (the angle they took the pics, it was impossible to see). I'm just overall disappointed. Now I feel like I will never find a big razor for a decent price. I've pretty much decided I'm going to go another route and get a custom one done, hopefully an inch or bigger, with scales in my favorite colors. I have contacted the person so we shall see. I already have my W&B 6/8, so I guess I can live without the 8/8. For now. Haha.

Bad luck on the razor, I think this rings true now more than ever, you are going to be very lucky indeed if you can come across a big blade with a well known makers mark for a low price, I'm not saying there are no bargains out there to be had, but in my opinion big blade spells big money for most people, especially if you want the words big honest and good in the same sentence.

sorry to hear about this, but suppose it depends on the description they gave. How much less than 8/8 is it? Did they say it was full length, would the seller even know it was not full length?
Anyway hope you can sort it out.

Sucks for sure, sorry for the issue I had a similar thing happen a few yrs back.
An SRP member posted a link here to an ebay auction for what looked liked a very nice puma 88, 5/8,real bad pics.
He had a decent feedback score and a post count here of as I recall over 100ish,I took him at his word.
Asked alot of questions, scales are mint he said (pics only showed the logo side) Blade is a full 5/8?? absolutly he said.
    I bought it.
The blade is 4/8 the other scale has a SS # crudeley carved into it,I protested, he said read my auction terms NO REFUNDS/AS IS.

The seller can say no refunds all they want, Paypal will usually side with the buyer and give the refund in spite of that. Just make sure you return the item with a tracking # to prove it was sent back. IME.

I'm not the biggest fan of large English steel, but I'm glad I nabbed a couple of decent ones before the prices went crazy.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

Some of the very few blades that seem to actually hold Value in todays crazy market, along with some spanish and Swedish blades.
I will never buy another razor. Also glad I got mine back in the day.

SOmetimes it's the sellor's honest mistake too... When I didn't know alot about razors I had a (what i thought was a 7/8, I measured with a wooden ruler).. But with calipers it was under the 7/8th mark, moving toward the 6/8th side... The buyer though I was trying to juke him, but I just wasn't that into razors to put calipers on them to measure them.. So, I refunded the money and apologized... To me it wasn't a big deal.. But I can see "now" that I am more into razor asthetics, I can see his point..
