I'd call it "broke in "
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Gentlemen, I would call this brush Audacious — like the peg-legged and one-eyed pirate hustling to model a new line of Armani suits.

This ad ranks up there with the SR having a "bottle opener" that might need a "little retouching". Never has a huge chip on a blade been better described!

I wonder if some of these descriptions of Ads and the excitement around it are generated by people not knowing what they have but hearing so many of these Reality Shows (American Pickers, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, etc) talk about ".. not cleaning...", "... not repairing...", "... not polishing..." and other vague comments... So that when "Eustice/Eugene eBay" finally come across something more than 20 years old and rusty, dirty, cracked and not even part-donor worthy that they think "Holy crap! This thing is Vintiqular maybe even Antiqulage and must be worth a fortune so we better not even wipe a cobweb off of it and really play it up in the description!". ?? ;-)
Recently I picked up what I thought was a great deal on eBay with an unknown straight that was listed as a W&B because that was the name on the box and I was stoked cause I figured most razor people would see that right away and then not bid out of anger/frustration. After the auction was over the member emailed me apologizing and asking if I wanted to void the buy as she just receiged an email from someone explaining her error. I quickly explained that I was more than happy and closed the deal.
Before coming to this site I knew really nothing at all about SR's so I can kinda put myself in 'some' of their places were I to get Grandpa/Dad/Uncles Junk Drawer and see something like that brush or an old straight lying there... Pretty good chance, at that time, that I would have been doing a modified Lotto Dance! :-D

Probably better they don't clean it, seems "cleaning it up" often does more harm than good. Cleaner upers seem to love wire brushes, sandpaper and vicious chemicals.

To a one year old, old is anybody even a day older than them.
To a five year old, old is anybody 10 or older.
To a ten year old, anybody past high school age is old.
To a fifteen year old, everybody but Bieber is old.
To a twenty year old, its all in the look and if she or he doesn't look too shopworn then they aren't too old yet.
To the thirty to sixtyfive year olds, who cares - older, schmolder.
To my age, as long as we wake up in the morning and see we are still breathing then every things well in the world and whats for breakfast.
