    Default newbie Ebay hone question

Hi, newbie here.. I've been watching this hone for some time and thought it would be a good deal for a norton. How much can one expect to pay for a used norton stone?

There also appears to be some kind of barber/swaty hone included...

There are no grit sizes or even suggested uses mentioned in the add. So if I were looking for razor hones I wouldn't even bid without a lot more information.

Looked like a Norton, a Gem/Swaty and a finishing belgian type hone to me. Anyway, someone thought they were worth 15$ -- I didn't bid.

The problem I see with the listing is That a "Norton" can be anywhere from about 220 to 8000 in grit and the other two hones are even more vague. It could be a 4000/8000 Norton a two line Swaty and a Coticle on the good side, or a 220 Norton a chunk of silicon carbide and a piece of MDF on the bad side. From the picture and description you just can't tell.

Yeah ebay is a crapshoot. Maybe that's why it's so addictive
