Advertising is expressely prohibited on SRP in the form of, but not limited to; avatars, signatures, threads, posts, user title, location, albums or visitor messages. SRP retains the right to ask a member to remove or change content. Only approved vendors can use commercial logos or text as outlined by the Vendor Panel. Linking occasionally to eBay sales is permitted but limited to the Auctions section. However links by members with inadequate forum participation are considered 'drive-by marketing' and will be removed.

Yes it is allowed in this section

@ Pixelfixed... Thanks for your preference! General opinion is nearly as important as 'Rules' in a Gentleperson's (?? is that even a word... I typically use Gentlemen/man but there is a Lady's section here so not sure of the right term...) Forum like this one so if the majority of the opinions were like yours I'd follow suit.

@ Glen... Doh! Guess I could have read all THREE stickies up top as this one:

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...ing-items.html

.. talks about it as well. My bad... In fact, I have pretty much ignored most of the Stickies except in the Beginner's section so I should probably get on that just to see if there is more common information I'm scrolling right on past.

The reason for this question/Thread is the 'lock-out' thing that happens in The Classifieds where it takes (??) 2-6 weeks for your old/purchased Ads to drop from the Archive and allow you to post new again. So, I'm trying to come up with strategies that don't involve WTT... As, according to my Wife... That doesn't solve the problem when I simply switch my stuff for an equal (possibly greater) amount of someone else's stuff.

Note, now, I'm NOT complaining whatsoever as I feel super privileged to be allowed to post what I can here for free and I would wholeheartedly pay equal to eBay's fees on a site like this to sell but that is not my call... I'm just trying to come up with a strategy that will work. After being laid off the end of May, my world has changed a bit and being able to put some work into flipable-razors and thin my herd is helping pay some bills.

So, if I read the Advertising Rules right, the putting of eBay Usernames at the bottom of sig lines would not be allowed as it would be considered Advertising in any other Section but here?

    Thanks again!

Yes that is correct Shawn it was fine to have your ebay name here but honestly once you link the auctions we all have it anyway

If you have several razors that you are selling just add them to this thread no need to keep making new threads..

We have no issue with people selling their extra stuff and trying to keep in "In the Family" so to speak, but if it becomes a common occurrence than we expect for the member to maybe think about a Vendor Badge...

Many thanks for asking about the rules....

Good point Glen! And, I will definitely check into that Vendor Badge... I was looking through the Vendor section and just didn't have enough time to determine if it were only brickNmortar/had to have business license (in WA you only need SSN until you make over X, I believe) or what the deal is but your post gives me more specifics to look for. Thanks!

Here we go... Some cool razors and a couple other cool/useful things:

Straight Razor Kropp 6 8" Round Point Shave Ready | eBay

Straight Razor Geneva Cutlery "Ontario" 6 8" Round Point Shave Ready | eBay

Straight Razor ERN 11 16" Muted Square Point Shave Ready | eBay

Sraight Razor Geneva Cutlery 11 16" Square Point Shave Ready | eBay

    Straight Razor VON Cleff 5 8" 9 16" | eBay
(This one is a clunker but may go cheap so I was thinking along the lines of "Practice Razor" if anyone here is looking. Otherwise, like they kept saying, "Bangkok has him now.", in the Hangover II... With this razor it's, "eBay has it now.". )

Straight Razor TWO Sided Strop Damaged Plus SRD Premium Fabric Sprays | eBay
(This is going to WTT if it does not sell in 7-10 days)

Straight Razor Case Fits 9 Razors | eBay

Straight Razor Hone Acme Combination OIL Stone | eBay

    Thanks for looking!

Shawn - Why not just offer this view and everyone can see all the items at the same time, rather than selecting them one at a time?

@ Walt... The short answer is I'm an intuitive/impatient clicker just clicking quickly until I get a result that works. I did poke around a bit and every time I clicked from inside my Account it gave a list similar to yours but it was all text and no thumbnails/pics. Your link is definitely better so I will keep working on that. Thanks for the heads-up!

@ lz6... Duly noted. I don't know if we should hash it all out in this Thread but if either you or Pixelfixed wouldn't mind shooting me a PM to give me a bit more detail/information on your opinion I'd certainly take into consideration anything either of you have to say. This is just a step in my process and I hope not to make it an annoying thing at all as I figure I can leap-frog posting stuff Classifieds here then sell then lockout and during the lockout here post on eBay, etc, etc. If this turns out to be something more consistent and workable I will absolutely get that Vendor Badge but I'm sure that would involve getting a website and all the details involved with that. And, I'm just not quite there yet.

I've gone through a similar route when I was building Golf Clubs... Learned Online, bought the tools, bought the parts, built my set (awesome), built my wife's set (even more awesome), built some for family then got business cards/logo and started to market a bit, did a handful of jobs and then the market simply fell apart... So, now I've got all the skill and some particular/specific technique to the way I build/set-up and there is no further for me to go as I'll never have large enough capital to do anything big and the large manufacturers are simply too dominant in the marketplace but moreso in marketing.

So, just trying to take baby steps... One at a time.

Thanks for all the information/opinions... I definitely listen!

Is a great writup in the vendor section I believe about becoming a vendor, there are qualifications that have to be met such as a Brick and morter store or a website.I have often thought about becoming a vender.I do have a little website to display my items.
Still do not think I could meet the standards to become a vendor tho, good luck in what you do.
My post above was not meant to be critical,I just have an aversion to people doing so.
When I cannot post my items on SRP,I also go to the bay, just never advertize it.thats just my way.

@ Pixelfixed... Thanks, and that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure and cover my bases and understand as much as I can. I reviewed the Vendor Criteria and, yep, that is a bit of a tall order for sure; at least from my position. No concerns about criticism whatsoever and I didn't read that into your reply... I just realize that with Forums like this that have been around awhile that there can be the "thing" that happened way back when and there was a lot of energy behind it and sometimes, like with a post like mine, it brings up similar energy. I just don't want to have a lot of people associating my current actions with drama from the past cause I have no clue; I'm just seeking information. No worries at all but I'm an information nut so if someone has an opinion I am all for hearing the deep and wide part of it... I guess that is perhaps more my affliction than my way but I'm functional with it.

@ Walt... I found it under "Advanced". So, uhm, yeah, with computers in general I would never associate myself with Advanced 'anything' and had been completely oblivious to that button until I was searching for just how you got that link. Very cool and way cleaner of a link. I also don't know how to do that hyperlink/word thing like yours but I can figure that out down the road.
