2 successful (if expensive) bids
I reckon the prices were reasonable, but the postage is going to be expensive.
$60.00 for both and another $30.00-odd for postage.
I've never succumbed to such high postage, but I wanted both of these and
what can you do ?....Just eat it
Vendors pics, mine will follow.
1. Shirley, Sheffield.
2. Frederick Reynolds, Sheffield.

Thanked: 634Where are they shipped from. I send razors all over the united states First Class Mail, padded envelope around 4 ounces and it is under $2.00. I think even priority mail would be cheaper than $30.00

Thanked: 1184The postage from the ISS is very steep these days isn't it ? I blame the price of rocket fuel.
Did you ask the seller for less expensive shipping? It sounds like it's coming on a private yacht from New York to Aus. You might also mention feedback after it is in the mail of course :<0)Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Did you Pay before receiving the Invoice? Sometimes the Shipping is just an estimate and the Seller has to send you an Invoice which includes your exact address and any subsequent increases or reductions in shipping. $30 does seem high but maybe it was Priority or Tracking that drove it up... I know a lot of disclaimers have read something to the effect that, unless you want to pay an extra $10 (or whatever the cost) then International Tracking will not be included... Could be their Shipping included Tracking... ??
I'm not sure, just throwing ideas out there. I've shipped to Belgium and I think it was only like $15 Priority but that was last year.
You can always send them an email and ask them to review/explain their Shipping costs. They can Refund part of your money if there was an error or if they are swayed by your concern.
I'm sure some people bump their Shipping to increase profit but it does not seem common to me... What I do and I'm sure plenty others do is include the cost of packing materials, tape, paper, printer ink and gas to drive to the Post Office... It is only a few cents or around a buck but I definitely include that and would absolutely expect anyone shipping to me to include the same.
Great looking razors! Are you going to do anything particular with them or simply hone 'em and use 'em?
Shawn

Thanked: 480When selling on Ebay, to qualify for "Seller Protection" packages must have proof of delivery. Without this, a seller is completely at the mercy of the person who says "I never got it"
and international shipping WITH PROOF OF DELIVERY is very expensive. Cheapest I have found (last years rates) averaged 23 dollars. Some more, some less. Its why I no longer bid on out of the states items, unless its something I MUST have and am willing to shell out the extra for shipping.
