I've heard this referred to as a Holy Grail.

Nice job on the restore but at that price it would have to be completely original and 99% minty for me to give it a second look. FWIW, I had one in nice shape. It was a decent shaver but not better than the average Solingen of the period AFAIC. I sold it for $200.00 IIRC. Would do the same again if I still had him.

He took a really beat up razor and almost re-manufactured it. It's not worth the price.

Yea... new scales, serious pitting, substantial hone wear... I agree with Jimmy and The Duke.

While I think it's a beautiful razor, I cannot see how anyone would value it enough to pay that price! Also, I disagree with the seller on the "deep mirror finish".

Thanked: 4821I said it was interesting. You don't see many for sale. When it comes to prices like this I'm out. I had seen many references to them but have seen very few pictures. I don't see them much different than the other ducks by picture.

Hard to tell, but I think the one that was listed on eBay (auction now listed as over) was redone by someone here on SRP: http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?p=1203904
