    Default Escher on Etsy

Hello all, Just posting this because I know these are a hot item. I know very little about hones so I don't know if this is in good shape , or if the price is reasonable.

Looks like a nice stone but the price is "a little" high.
A collector "must have at any price" may fall for it...

I stumbled across the listing when I was looking for a nice Gilette Fatboy. I am starting to think most of what I have seen is a "little" high. Also, at my experience level any ebay or etsy purchase would be gambling.

I think that most of us are gambling when we are buying from those places. That is always my view, unless they have a decent return policy it's a big gamble.

Just take a look through the completed listings on ebay to get an idea of value. That is really the only way to judge current value on these things. From a collector's point of view, on this one the slurry stone is in two and the label is in bad shape. From a user's point of view, there's no pictures of the working surface of the thing.

Good points Scienceguy. Further illustration of how I am not ready for online buying.

For that price you can get a 10" Escher Should be interesting to see what the ebay auction will go for.

I just bought a nice dark blue (8'' x 2'')for a lot less than 1/2 that price and the label is perfect. Seller said it was NOS when he bought it and I believe it.
