Not sure about the etching, someone else will have to chime in on that one. But it's a Duck you have to use it
A man should only look in the mirror when he shaves.

Thanked: 9My thoughts exactly! Cars, bikes and razors, no point restoring and looking after them if they just sit in a shed unused!

Thanked: 40Just be glad that the mishap was with a DD instead of a no name.
Great looking razor! I just got my first Duck and it shaves smoooooooooooooth.
Enjoy yours and in time the story behind it will turn into a memorable one.

The gold etching is gold. It will hold up against anything chemical really. Doesn't corrode, discolor, anything like that. It is also microscopically thin, so it will wear away in a heartbeat. Plain water and soft rags should keep it looking nice for a long time. Resist all urges to buff it with metal polish or anything the like..
Nice looking razor, have fun with it.

Very nice razor and the price is in accordance with what goldedges bring in that condition AFAIK. As str8fencer said, metal polish will remove gold wash in a heartbeat. Just rinse and wipe with a soft tissue when you're done shaving. Lubing it with a rust preventative is optional depending on your environment. If you need to do it with your others certainly do it with this jewel.

Very nice razor, hope you enjoy it for years to come. It's a good thing there wasn't any shill bidding going on to send the price through the roof!

Don't blame your miskeying on the computer.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

From what I've seen the price is reasonable and you've got yourself a nice razor.
I spent considerably more on my DD, wasn't trying for a good deal just had to have that DD.S.L.A.M.,.......SHAVE LIKE A MAN!!!
Not like a G.I.R.L. (Gentleman In Razor Limbo)
