I saw that razor earlier, and I can't imagine trying to get it to take an edge. I actually wonder if the blade was snapped off, rather than honed off, because the spine wear doesn't look that bad.

I think this is the result of a big nick and the owner just cut the razor to "erase" the nick....trying to sell it for more than a nicked blade...
