As I understand it folk art is this sort of thing, I saw an example of a map of the USA made.from bits of licence plate from each state.
I am sure someone likes this sort of thing but not me.
And my hand sure as hell doesn't crave it.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I don't remember the Poster but I saw a pair of these not long ago for a similarly inflated price. From the cuts on that barber's notch and how crisp the edge looks it seems to be newly built. Evidently, someone is either 'funning around' or a genius if they are actually selling at this price! At 23" long maybe they can use it in one of those Sasquatch/Jacks Links commercials?! :-)

Thanked: 375I seen something similar to this one in a shop. Might have been an advertising piece, prop, or as you said folk art. The one I saw had claims to have been in a play of some sort - I wasn't interested either, but still an interesting piece.

In a way it reminds me of that "ancient razor" thing from China that's been floating around the bay for at least 6 years now. It's just a flattened piece of metal with some wood attached. I don't know if it's the same piece being resold repeatedly or if there are a few thousand of them coming out of China. I guess it could be for real but I've seen it show up too many times using the exact same photo to think it's a real thing from the 17th century or whatever/from whenever it's supposed to be.

Going back in to my memory... Wasn't there a write up about these being used in ? British ? Army as a training tool in ~ 1800's. Seems that army reg. was for shaven faces while the civilian standard was bearded??
May explain the quantities that are turning up.

The Jokes on all of you. That be Mr Wades first made razor he made for himself all handcarved. There are only two of them the other being in the British Museum. I understand this one is worth well into six figures.
It will be a lucky stiff who wins that one.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
