Default I don't get it? Ebay razors bidded on.

Am I missing something? Why do people bid on total junk razors on Ebay? Some of this stuff is so chipped and rusted, just looking at them will give you a case of tetanus.

Thought of that as a possibility. Most have scales that look as bad as the razors themselves.

The thrill of the chase. "I've got it and you don't" Looking in the candy store window syndrome. You can't have it, it's mine!, etc........

Human nature is always an amazing force to watch. There is also the "I can fix that" concept that gets a lot of people in trouble (practical experience on that one).

You'd be surprised. Sometimes people buy things on eBay for reasons other than the obvious. My wife has her art projects that she does and collects all sorts do vintage/antique items that become part of her project. Old locks, keys, bottles, watch parts, eye glasses...all of it may find its way into one of her projects. One mans junk is another mans treasure.

Both great points. Today's junk razor on Ebay becomes a charming bit of decor in a TGI Friday's.

Yeah I was making an offer on a razor and asked if I could get better pictures of the blade, because I told her I needed to know if it could be saved. Her response was "oh, people shave with them?" Apparently people use them in art projects and what not.

Just scares me to think people are actually thinking they can shave with them. I am sure even with the best pictures and a trained eye, flaws and irregularities can be missed.

    I'd consider this:
Vintage A Witte Classic Red Celluloid Handle Germany Straight Razor 3 4" | eBay

Although well used, to me it looks like a straight shooter. Maybe a better trained eye could say different

    I wouldn't buy this:

BUBBIEG0027 001 Vintage Barber Focus Razor Works Razor Merscheid Germany w Box | eBay

Check out the heavy scale rot barely noticable because of the poor lighting.

Both of these have a buy it now of $25. Even if both of them are for something else other then a school project, At least the first one appears usable
