Thanked: 5I don't get it? Ebay razors bidded on.
Am I missing something? Why do people bid on total junk razors on Ebay? Some of this stuff is so chipped and rusted, just looking at them will give you a case of tetanus.

Thanked: 5Thought of that as a possibility. Most have scales that look as bad as the razors themselves.

The thrill of the chase. "I've got it and you don't" Looking in the candy store window syndrome. You can't have it, it's mine!, etc........
Human nature is always an amazing force to watch. There is also the "I can fix that" concept that gets a lot of people in trouble (practical experience on that one)."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

You'd be surprised. Sometimes people buy things on eBay for reasons other than the obvious. My wife has her art projects that she does and collects all sorts do vintage/antique items that become part of her project. Old locks, keys, bottles, watch parts, eye glasses...all of it may find its way into one of her projects. One mans junk is another mans treasure.

Thanked: 5Both great points. Today's junk razor on Ebay becomes a charming bit of decor in a TGI Friday's.

I remember when Ebay first started and one of my friends brother sold a jug of spoiled milk and someone bought it. Some garbage is another mans treasure.

I've heard some people turn old razors into carving tools. Good steel, hollow grinds, relatively easy to mod.

If you are a true restorer you should be able to turn lead into gold.
Like this one I restored in a few minutes. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
