    Default Emerson Cutlery Co?

I recently purchased a vintage straight razor that was restored and shave ready. It's stamped with 'Emerson Cutlery' and came with what is supposedly the original box. The box looks quite old and I was trying to figure out about when the razor was made. I had never heard of Emerson Cutlery Co and after trying to do some research, I can't find anything about it. Can anyone tell me about this company? Time period in business? Or is this not as 'vintage' as I was lead to believe?

My surname is Emerson and I've got 3 of them. I haven't been able to find out anything about them apart from one has Germany stamped on the tang so they are German. There was an Emerson strop company as well but I don't think they are connected. I'd guess that they were made by a generic German maker and stamped with a Western sounding name.
