No its just out of stock and its cheaper form him to whack a massive price on so nobody buys than to cancel the listing and re-list it when it is back in stock.

it was listed at $4900.00 (or something insane like that). Likely a ploy to get people to look at the ad and follow it

It's a seller's tactic to save a buck. Relisting fee's are quite cheap versus a new listing, this is why vendors do that.
