Thread: Dorko 7-day set

I was wandering through some antiques malls near Lancaster, PA, today, when I came upon a Dorko 7-day set in beautiful condition. The guy wanted $600 and I don't have that kind of spare change. Sigh. Did I pass up the deal of a lifetime?

Where did you say this place was in Lancaster? I have to call a babysitter and get a plain ticket before the wife gets home from work!

Was it in good condition?
I have been looking for one nice Dorko for a decent price, and there you had 7. For a killer price! Especially if there were in good shape!

Beautiful condition! Yep! That would have been tough for me to pass up, but, your needs and wants are different.

I haven't seen a full 7 Dorko in good condition.

I am thirty minutes away from Park City Mall. Where is this shop with the Dorko set? Please.

I went to a bunch of them, and they're all very much alike. It's kind of a blur. It may have been Renninger's, Pine Hills, Adams, or possibly Stoudt's. If you drive on 272 in Adamstown and Reinhold's, you'll be in antiques alley. Sorry I can't be more specific.

It takes a lot of time to go through these places. There are many dealers in all of them, and nobody knows what the other guy has. Also, with the exception of this Dorko set, the razors are not bargains.

I have noticed that in most antique shops I have visited, the dealer often hasn't the faintest clue about what they are selling. Most of the time the razors are overpriced despite chips and excessive honewear. Nevertheless, you can occasionally fall on a few gems.

I have never see a 7 day dorko set. Sounds like a real trove.
