Thanked: 24There's a 50% discount on norton 4k/8k stones on Amazon.
I hope this does not count as advertising, let me know if it does.
I've been looking for a razor hone, as all I have now is an 8k/12k barber's hone, and I came across that and thought some of you would be interested.
Also, I know this is quite a vague question, but is a norton 4k/8k and 8k/12k barber's hone an adequate honing setup? I'm not expecting to do the sort of things that some of the experience honemeisters can do, but is it enough for setting or refreshing bevels and restoring old razors?

Norton 4/8 is a great hone.. U can set a bevel on the 4 k Side and finish on the 8 k ..many of us started out using them.. If u plan on restoring razors it may b a good idea also to get a 1k to set bevels and remove chips..the 12k you have can be used as your finishing stone after the 8 k..there is a post on here called ja norton it explains the many different ways a 4/8 can be used to hone a razor.. I still use mine to this day .. But I'm in the market for a fresh set up probably going the chosera route..

I got mine off amazon for $75 a little over a year ago, I guess I haven't looked at them since. I looked this time because a $38.50 4/8 would have to make for a spare.
