Funny I was just looking at that one and first thing I thought was that it was part of a pair of scissors and then I come on here and see this thread.

I agree with the description though - it would only suit a collector. Garbage collector.

I would bet anything that the blade was taken down like that to make a boatswain knife/spike. The spike is used on board a ship to loosen knots.

But how does it shave? Still laughing about over the reserve!
