Does nobody have an opinion on these? I tempted to buy but don't want to get ripped off.

    Default badger knot on ebay

Perhaps one of the other members is familiar with this seller. As a newbie I don't know enough about these particular brushes to help you. I guess my reservation with them would be that the knot was made in China. My personal experience with many different chinese items is not good. I am sure they must make some good stuff, but most of it is junk. Usually does not hold up well. Poor workmanship is typical. Business men have things manufactured there because of cheap labor. I am looking at buying a Shavemac brush from Jim on Vintage Blades. He is listed as one of our vendors. Might do well to buy from a reputable seller. Just my $.02.

Item being made in China has nothing to do with quality statements. Maybe years back, but not now. The Chinese are willing to make you products with as much build quality as you are willing to pay for.

I'd say go for it, get the brush, and let us know how good is it.

I would, but not having a known quality brush to compare it with my opinion of it would be mute.

Edit: I think I'll wait and get one from recommended retailer before I start to experiment.

If you want a brushhead only check out Blankity Blanks. I got mine there and I'm VERY pleased.
