Default NOS Japanese Scheon Burg 666 straight razor

Stunning find on eBay earlier, a NOS Japanese Scheon Burg 666 frame back for $155.00 BIN price...love the frame backs, and have heard nothing but fantastic things about this razor. Really looking forward to this one, it's a real gem, especially to get it NOS.

No No you see it says Toyo on it? That means it's a toy razor not real. When you get it don't open it just send it to me I'll know what to do with a toy razor.

    Har har.

I have two of those, and that's because I really love those Toyo's.
    A good find, good indeed!

It just arrived...wow...absolutely brand spanking new. Never been honed, still a rather dull factory edge on it, it's never seen a hone, scales are crisp and clean, beautifully translucent, and all the gold wash lettering is perfect.

Sending it off to Valery to get honed up...until I actually held it, when they said 6/8+, they meant it, it is one nice big frame back.

    Cheers!

Let me know how you like it once you shave with it. I think you'll like the way it performs.

Phrank, as your Pope I need to tell you you need to say 10 Our Lynn's and 10 Hail Glen's for the luck achieved in snagging that damn fine razor. I wait with jealous bated breath waiting to hear how it shaved.

Yes, hoping it will live up to the French frame backs.

The other big frame back I have, the Wade and Butcher 13/16, kind of felt stuck in the middle. It was neither as nice as the smaller French frame back, and was neither in the league of the 9/8 Celebrated, FBU type blade. Was like it tried to bridge both worlds and wasn't completely successful at it, so I'm hoping this Japanese razor will do a better job of bringing a nice frame back experience, with the add-on of the larger blade. We'll see....it should hit the SOTD next week sometime.

Nice find. Shaving with Japanese western style framebacks is a treat. The 666 is easy to maintain once you get that initial honing done. Enjoy.
