They would have had I thrown my hat into the ring. I watched them as well but I had my eyes on bigger fish. Good on ya.

So from the pictures the damage to the scales looks minor. Is there something I can use to fill in the nick?

Looking at it again I remember why I passed on this one. It is hard to tell from the pictures but there appears to be a crack that runs well up into the blade at the heal of one of the razors.

The bresnick one is probably from around 1930s, the reynolds from the mid to later 1800s.

If you are talking about the FR i am pretty sure that the the etch boundary. You can see it at the heal and toe and only on the show side of the blade. If it is the other one i won't be to upset. I was mainly after the FR.

That may be what it is. I hate it when sellers post really bad pictures and don't let you zoom in on the item. I couldn't verify a crack by getting a good look at the other side of the razor. I hope all is well with both of them as that is a really good price for some fine pieces.

I reckon that's pretty spot on. I would have said 1920-30 for the Bresnick and 1850-70 for the Frederick Reynolds.
