    Default C-Mon Filarmonica??

I thought a C-Mon was one thing, a Filarmonica another. Apparently not.

C-Mon is a brand name of Peter J Michels Ltd since the 40's. The various items under that brand are made by different manufacturers around the world. Current-production C-Mon razors (yes, they're still being made) appear to be made by Dovo, they were made by some other german outfit (don't know who) way back when, and it looks like they were made by Filarmonica for awhile as well.

The current C-Mon are both quite good and pleasantly inexpensive. I got a "Cadillac" for $52 from appleton barber's supply and think they make a very good inexpensive razor.

So when did Carl Monkhouse (who presumably gave us the acronymical brand name 'C-MON') relinquish that name? I had a C-Mon recently - what a nice razor - and it was definitely by Carl Monkhouse.

Dammit...you forced me to buy another razor I didn't need. I love C-Mons. Probably my all-time favorite brand (at least, one of them). Don't know if the Dovo C-Mons are as good as the old ones, but I had to give them a try. The Cadillac is gonna look good with some custom scales. $52 is an outstanding price, though, and I couldn't pass it up. Got an alum block to try, too.

    Where can they be bought?
