Thanked: 40Dubl Duck Satinedge Tripoli Indian Head
I came across an auction with an unusual Dubl Duck Satinedge.
The scales appear to show an "Indian Head" on the brass inlay. The razor is described as "Tripoli Indian Head."
This is the only picture from the auction
Are these scales original? Has anyone every heard of a Dubl Duck "Tripoli" or "indian Head"?

I think you have a Satinedge in a set of scales from a razor imported by PJM for Tripoli barber's supply of Philadelphia.
Could be wrong..... Here is a mint example.

Thanked: 40sharptonn,
Thanks for digging up those pics. Those are some nice scales on the Tripoli. They look just like Dubl Duck. Do you own the Tripoli pictured by any chance?

It is mine. Just had to snatch it out and take some pics. Big razor, 13/16++. Pretty much a ringer for a CMon, one of many names PJM provided for various vendors. I take it the one you pictured has Tripoli under the Indian on the bottom bolsters?

Thanked: 40I'm not sure exactly where the Tripoli would be on this razor. All I know is that the vendor includes "Tripoli" in the item description. It's too bad that the vendor only has one picture -- showing only once side of the scales. But you think that the Tripoli would have to be on the other side of the Indian as you suggest.

Yeah. It is there. Just cannot see it from the photos. Here is another. Tripoli, I have seen on a list of PJM made razors along with other names. I suppose other suppliers/makers would have been sold by Tripoli with their name on it as well? Indeed, any number of makers could have made the blade which came in those scales. But seemingly FOR Tripoli with the name stamped/inlayed.
With that Indian on it, could have been made by Cattaraugus! Although German, I would think, with those bolsters.
