    Default Gay Blades

Figured these would go higher. Now to source a suitable period case. Maybe one of those wooden coffins made for pairs...

    Well done, nice pair.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

I suspect the listing title would have put some off. More fool them.

Guess you out bid me. I was the $40 and was going to go $50 but got side tracked. Congrats! Nice buy.

I put an $88.88 bid in with 50 seconds to go and let it rip....pretty shocked when I refreshed the page. They are fairly basic late 1800's sheffield made for a retailer of fine Gentleman's accessories. W. Gay & Son had a myriad of leather items, fancy campaign boxes, and accouterments. I liked the personalized scales except I can't figure out the two small "5's" stamped near the pins? Maybe symbolizing 5/8?

Received today...neat little ( 5/8) precision instruments. Wonder who W. Martin Jones Junior was? And where did the retailer Gay & Sons source their product? They look very much like both Weiss and Greaves models I have owned in the past.
