I still say it had to be a guy whose focus was on "8/8" , rather than the overall razor. If you are craving an 8/8 or better, FBU, and you're a straight razor shaver, you get one that is a smidgen under the 8/8 and look at the razor overall. If it was in decent condition, maybe even shave ready, he'd call it good. A guy who is lusting for 8/8 or better only sees the tale of the tape. The true shaver would strop and give it a go. Too bad it had to go to the 'wrong' guy.

agree with Jimmy, sounds like a guy in a p!ssing contest, with the mines bigger than yours syndrome,
without seeing the actual item in dispute,
if the blade is that close then we can only assume they didn’t want the actual blade for all its merits, purely its size factor

maybe a true shaver will get it next time
