    Default Joseph Elliott listing

I was trying to find the thread where the fine *folks on this forum critique for possible flaws in eBay listings.

Anyway, here is the address for the auction:

Antique Joseph Elliots 1" Silver Steel Sheffield Straight Razor w Coffin Box | eBay

I really like the lines on this razor but I am a new and not certain this would be a worth while purchase. My main concern are catastrophic issues that would prevent it from being restored to a useful, long lasting, beautiful razor.

    Thanks for your advice!

I had a bid on the razor. Looked nice and think it would shave well. Just too high a price for me.

I would agree on a possible slight frown....however it should clean up well. I didn't see any obvious flaws but I am at work and didn't spend to much time looking at the pic

Yes, very slight frown, but with a little work on the stones should be good as new...price for that blade looks good AFAIK...

Yes, might have a slight frown but it could also be distortion introduced by the camera lens used also. There are also dark spots, devils spit?, down near and on the bevel. That may or may not hide some pitting. If there is pitting and depending how deep you may have to do a fair amount of work bevel setting to get fresh clean steel on the bevel. Not an expert on razor condition but I would likely chance it for myself.
