    Default Lucky duck!

Picked this satinedge up for $16.95 BIN, and just got her honed up. I think it's an older one, but I'm no expert. It has pearlduck stamped very small on the tail, and bresnick stamped with the duck logo. I will see how she shaves later this week, but I have a feeling it will be quite nice.Name: 20141224_120706.jpg

You got one of the older ones alright. When Pearlson bought out Bresnick they took over his stock and that's one of those razors. Pearlduck rebranded those razors and that's why it's stamped Bresnick and pearlduck. As a matter of fact it's very old because Bresnick later used Bresduck so it predates that change too. I would guess early 1930s maybe a bit before.

I have never seen a duck with both stampings. For the duck devotee that is a rare find. Of course it will be a stellar shaver. Luck duck indeed !

When I saw the auction I thought for sure the scales were not original, because there were no markings on the scales like I'm used to seeing. The pins appear original to me. Very cool, thanks for the input guys, this is more special than I had even originally thought, and I knew it was a good find!

Can't say for sure, maybe thespendur could, he has been collecting them for years, but I'm sure I've seen original ducks from that time frame with those plain celluloid scales in that beige color.

He used a lot of strange scales on his early razors. It could be original and maybe not.

Great find. The pins look original unless somebody did a bang up job on replacing them :<0)
