    Default Waldorf Hotel set?

Has anyone ever heard of a set like this? I couldn't find anything in the forums.

I don't know about the hotel blades, they sort of resemble a set of Wilkinson's I had years ago. The 'Tennis' Solingen was a Fritz Bracht brand IIRC. Aside from the badly chipped razor, which is shot AFAIC, they are too small for my hand, though they might clean up alright. I'd pass if it was me.

Lots of Bokers exist with Waldorf etch upon the blade. Fancy Hotels all had stores within for upper end items. Souvenirs for some,
    necessities for others.

    I rest my case.

tseppish are these your razors? I think the current $9.00 price would be about right for that set. Just mho.

No, they are not mine. I was just shopping on the bay and found them. I was hoping to find something inexpensive and better quality than my current Gold Dollar.

Thanks tseppish. You might want to take a look through our classifieds here. There are normally some very nice razors available for competitive prices. If you are looking to upgrade from a gold dollar you have taken a necessary first step. Unless you have some experience you should consider staying away from ebay.
Don't hesitate to ask questions of SRP members selling straight razors here if you see one that
you think would work for you. Welcome to the forum.

The razors that you linked to, have many issues that would cause you nothing but grief when it comes to shaving. Read through the links that I am providing, to see a little of what I am referring to.

If you are getting good shaves from your Gold Dollar, then hold onto it as you arrange for a new starter razor in say Dovo or others priced at the 100.00 to 140.00 range. Also keep an eye on our classified section for good deals.

Quite a few hotels sold razors with their name branded on them.

Thank you all for the advice. I finally got a pretty good shave with it last night, but it wasn't terribly pleasant. Speaking of the classifieds, there are several from a member for 20-40 dollars. The pictures aren't as good as I would like, but he claims to have used them in the past. Can anybody vouch for the blades or seller?

I've seen them too,,,tseppish,,, we sometimes get burned in our razor purchases when we start out,, I did. I admit to not reading the Library carefully when I searched through antique stores for bargins.

tseppish,,,, if I were in your situation, I would not touch those razors , I would either save more money for a good razor or think about what other items you have, that you would be willing to trade someone for, in exchange for a good shave ready razor. There is an area in the classified section where you can trade or post what you have to exchange.
