Best ban I ever got was the courts saying I was divorced (I can show you the papers).

That was a good ban! just think, the next time you sit down and have to do the taxes, if you hadn't procrastinated, you'd have nothing to do other than stare at the wall.

well I can honestly say that I have sent sellers messages and haggled for a lower price ! but I will also say it after a item has ended , or has ran 2-3 times through its listings with no bids or offers and I have never sent an offer I wouldn't except if it was my item ... I don't have a problem with "hagglers" until they offer until I get offers of $10 on a $200 item ..lol..

but the OP is just a ridiculous buyer and I hope I never run into a buyer like that ... nuts !!

If you sell enough on Eboy you'll run into a nut. They are out there and it's just a matter of time. I've had my share.

I don't always haggle, but have no problem when people are clear about it. It'd have been easy to say "i'm not interested in that stone at that price, are you firm on the price?". It would've been easy for me to answer that, "yes, I am".

playing bizarre and communicating poorly is something I'm not keen on. I usually price stuff where I'm willing to let go of it, and thus don't move much. At the same time, I will tell a seller "hey, i'm interested in that at $____" and they can just say no, but it's clear and easy. I've also paid straight up to people who I could tell were getting ready to hear an offer and counter when I'm at flea markets, and that usually surprises the dealer. I always say "i don't have a problem at the price you're asking, I'm glad you brought it here". I can tell they're happy, and I'm happy.

I get a little turned off when people try to act like they're little tycoons on ebay. "hey, i own a honing business and I'd never talk to a potential customer the way you just talked to me". OK.. . . o o O O (you're not a potential customer, you're banned. I don't ban many people but you made it!!). Sometimes people need you to be direct if you're trying to help them, like beginners. They might not like you, but they'll remember it. But someone who claims to be a budding honemeister isn't going to give me grief about "the big risk" on a 2 pound kyoto stone and then suggest I might be untrustworthy. If I was, I sure wouldn't be selling at $65, I'd be talking about the "beautiful frosted haze that challenges even the best honer".
I talked with my psychiatrist about this and she said.." just go ahead and tell him"

... "I FEEL your PAIN" ..ha

    Cheers..d

When I worked retail, an Russian immigrant came in, and wanted to purchase a bird cage. He kept offering me lowball offers on the cage. (it was a fairly expensive cage) The sales guy refused to budge on the price. the guy went away steaming mad.

The next day, the fella came back. I took the price tag off of the cage. I told the guy the price was 30 dollars higher than the price tag had said, and began haggling with him. We ended the deal with him paying 2 dollars over the price tag, and him being happy because he felt he had succeeded in his purchase quest. Its cultural for some people. It was the way of life for them. I don't begrudge anybody the haggle, simply because I don't have a way to know if they are being cheap, or simply assuming that I have already upped the price to provide the space to haggle. I always just respond with a counter offer in an attempt to steer the sale where I want it. (assuming I am willing to let something go for less to begin with)
