Thanked: 4827It needs work. It is unlikely that it will go cheap. It has 5 days left and there is no telling where it will go in advance. Sometimes they are a deal but not always. Most of the action happens in the last 20 seconds. It is 13/16 so not a great amount of wear on it despite the look of the spine.

Thanked: 634Looks like a crack in blade by heel. Some light pitting. Personally I would pass.

Thanked: 3Either your eyes are that good and mine are that bad, or you're seeing things that aren't there because I don't see a crack.

Thanked: 634In the last two photos it is about 3/8 from the heel. That's what it looks like on my tablet. If I am wrong sorry. If you are the seller I apologize but that is what I see.

Thanked: 3No, I just don't see it, maybe I haven't been dealing with razors long enough to know what to look for.

Thanked: 4827last picture near then bottom you can see the bevel break. That is the most obvious of them in the picture. A little crack can easily be a big crack. You could ask the seller if there are any chips or cracks in the blade, if they say no but you buy and there is it is an automatic grounds for return, even if they have it advertised as non returnable.

Thanked: 634Very sorry if I offended you. Not questioning your knowledge. This forum is not to argue but to give advice and opinions. Again my intention was NOT to offend but to give an opinion. I hope you can accept my apology.

Thanked: 459That seller needs to describe what that is at the back. It's clear the bevel flexes differently fore and aft (99 chances out of 100 it's a crack, and the end of the thing already has a lot of hone wear (the other end) so trying to grind out that crack isn't something I'd want to do, it'd turn it into a banana).
I've had razors that had a tiny crack (not one that looks like that) that hones out before it has a chance to go anywhere, by removing a half mm or so of the blade, but I wouldn't touch that razor for $20. Just my opinion.
I've never had a perfect filly, but I've had two, one that was rusty and benefited from a regrind, and one that I sold in the classifieds a couple of days ago that is nicer than the one I kept. I think they're an ultra nice shave to have if you're willing to tolerate a couple of cosmetics and pay a third of the price. At $400-$500 for the 14s in NOS condition, I don't really get it, though.
It may be just by chance, but the two filarmonica make 14s that I have are both dead straight, as are many of the premium razors I've gotten. That itself is worth it for me for a razor that I am going to keep.
I guess what I'm saying is I'd pass that one by without fooling with trying to pin the seller on anything - it looks cracked to me and it's not worth your time, but keep looking for razors that have most of their blade width left and a few cosmetic issues - they (the fillis like that) are still awesome shavers.Last edited by DaveW; 03-02-2015 at 03:30 PM.
