Well, certain slates with crusty stamps sell for huge money and slate is as common on earth as dust.. Test enough of it and you are bound to find a brilliant piece, yet ppl pay through the nose. People assign value to all sorts of wacky things...

If you look close at the pics you can also see the flaws in the steel, that were probably never planned on being left there after final grinding...
