So this morning the UPS guy delivered a box allegedly containing the half-price T-I razor with faux tortoise scales that I'd ordered 11 months ago. This is what was inside:

    Notice anything interesting?

Maybe it's an upgrade because you had to wait, Montanan.

Could be, I suppose, though the packing label doesn't indicate that. Whatever happened, it's definitely gorgeous.

I'm sitting here trying to decide what to do with the thing ...

Looks like you got the best deal, albeit the wait. Here it is from Lehman's site for $229.

    Shave with it.

I get what you're saying. Maybe call their customer service and explain the discrepancy. I had something similar happen once and I wouldn't have felt right not letting the vendor they had made a mistake.

Yeah, it's a minor situational ethics thing. Even with their lousy service I don't want to take advantage of them ... but at the same time, I wouldn't really save them money by returning the thing, both because of the added customer service costs and because I imagine they couldn't put an open-box razor straight back into the warehouse.

    And it really IS gorgeous.

You could call them and let them decide if they want it back, let you keep it, or pay some extra for the different scales.

Decided I'd feel better about things if I called them ... and they just told me I could keep the razor received, with their compliments.

    Now I'm off for a guilt-free shave!

Yeah You got real scales Blond Ram??? That is not the razor I got, well I got plastic scales. Go you
They made you whole. Compensation for waiting and the mental anguish associated with being post traumatic waiting syndrome .

Just did a quick shave. The edge it came with is perfectly acceptable, and I like the weight of the scales. Longest backorder ever, but I'm very pleased.
