    Default Famous Barber Manual

In the National Geographic special "Closer Shave", that you can find here,
they talk about a famous barber textbook from 1920: "Barbers Manual" from A.B. Moler.

I've discovered that is avaible now on ebay here in really good condition, and here, with a nice Fridour razor and strop.
It seems they don't send overseas, so I cannot buy it.

It would be nice if someone could buy this book, do a scan of the interesting chapter, and put the file in the help area in Straight Razor Place...
    Any volunteer?

    Ciao
    Francesco

I have a barber's manual from 1950 and aside from it actually having photographs in it, the techniques and instructions don't appear to have changed. Very interesting.

If you can't get the 1920 book, we have copies of the 1960's book in the SRP library

I have a Moler barber manual that I've quoted many times in various threads. It is copyrighted 1911 and revised through 1926.

What info and what pages are you interested in? I'd be happy to post them for you.

I think it would be a good idea to scan the chapter on shave technique, hone and strops use, and put them on the help file area of this site, so everyone con use them for increase knowleadge.
That was the sense of my post.

Already in the help files is a copy from the "Standard" textbook of barbering from the 60's teaching stropping and honing. The info and technique is nearly identical to the 1920's Moler text. This is it: http://straightrazorpalace.com/compo...id,3/Itemid,3/

I could add the chapter on shave technique.
