wade & butcher
ive seen many a regrind but this was interesting, first time i recall seeing a faux frameback wade & butcher that was reground as a hollow grind. itll be made shave ready but newbies beware! this is not some kind of rare or uncommon grind, just a bad judgement call by some cutler back in the day

I have two or three razors with that type of grind, however, they were made that way rather than modified to look that way....interesting eBay listing...that would be one I would've taken a chance on for the current price.

phrank this is definitely a rattler that was reground hollow and very poorly done judging from the front face of it. if yours look just like this they have to be reground rattlers, not intentional grinds from wade & butcher. this one just screams amateur regrind from the unevenness of the hollow on the face to the way the shoulders are ground into this rattler grind, both front and rear of blade. the original grind is clearly there as the darker steel and the reground surfaces are the brighter hollows. it doesnt jive at all design wise and the quality would be terribly inconsistent with wade & butcher. i would love to see the examples you have if you dont mind posting pics or linking me to where they may be

yeah i thought it would go a bit lower but im certainly no judge of what others choose something is worth to them. i tend to overpay for a lot of my stuff by some folks standards it seems. but then i also like to hunt a good deal. this ended as not a good deal imo. with the grind altered so much i wouldve have bid on this if it were only $9.99.

Goes to show you. Guys want a Wade and Butcher. Should have done a BIN on a nice one. NOooooo, go get ino a bidding war on a seemingly cheaper ruined one and Presto! Same money spent. Avoid this as you can, new guys!

I rest my case.
