Yad think they would for that price they'd do free shipping.
Ouch!!! That's 5 Pixelfixed works of art , with a nice badger in it !!!! Tc. No question where I would spend my money
You could get a new one cnc'd from bar for half that LOL
A bidding war:
Attachment 201835
but why? May be the #4 is particularly rare.
That ain't right! Someone has to be running that up for less than honorable reasons. Tc
Wow! At that price, I have literally given away a bunch of those. I have one left. Kindof proud to have it now!
The knot seems toast. Lots of hand-sanding and polishing will be needed as well as a new knot.
Silly! The seller better hope it gets paid for and not be returned, IMO.
I could buy 30-40 vintage razors for that price?? WTH?
Bidding something like up all through the time of the auction is insane, and strategically stupid.
You make one bid, and you either hit it with the winning bid, or you lose, all within the last 2-3 seconds.
Ohhhhhh, just another $5........... Ok, another $5..........Ahhhhh, lets do one more...........What the hell, again.......$2 dollars is a coffee, I can do without a coffee tomorrow......
That's not how you do it??
This smells like that Wade-Butcher 2 or 3 years ago where two guys bid it up to ~$800.
And I'll bet the seller is pooping his pants. :)
Hillary Clinton is 1 bidder and the other is a prosecutor thinking it's evidence :<0) Even if the owner knew somebody that had one of these that heard they came in a new box, I wouldn't go more than 40.
I wish that were true, cuz I'd sell mine in a heartbeat for $500, but I don't think it's so.
My 400-4

Oh, and it has to have boogers stuck in the letters too....
Nice, Murf! Go ahead and sand that a bit on the taper. You have plenty meat there.
Got to admit, those old 'Rocket' brushes are cool!
HAR! Look at the others on fleabay! My! :D
There is probably a long list of items that have achieved an unwarranted cult status.....an early one was tulips (the flower, yep). An example from our time is Beanie Babies......the shaving community (or simply collectors) are not immune.
That one looks perfect to me murf. Wait till next year to sell. May get 1,000 :<0)
The interesting thing is that one person is buying all those off eBay. Wonder what the end game is here.
That is interesting. 7 day set maybe.
I am thinking about making a mold.....Melting some aluminum. Would cost less than all that!
I wonder what is so special about those handles to make them such commodity? I like the looks but they are not rare by any stretch it seems.
What boggles my my mind is I could have a custom blade done for the cost he paid...... To each their own I suppose.
Edit.
A very, very nice nice custom I might add!!
It must be for a collection, there is no way those can be flipped for any kind of profit.
People do that. Try to corner the market on an item. If he only knew how many of those are out there.
I had bought 6 or 7 of them. Quit when they got over 40 bucks. I even gave a few away to friends. :rofl2:
There are those with crazy amounts of money and they want what they want. I know a guy that has 3 million bucks parked in his garage. When your income is in the over the top ridiculous range you can do all sorts of things. Perhaps he wants an NOS brush for each member of the board of directors, or each vice president.
Maybe this person has two accounts. He's selling under one name and "buying" them under another name at stupid, outrageous prices to jack up the perceived worth/value. Once the stock goes up and everyone on SRP decides to jump on the bandwagon, he'll dump them for ridiculously low prices and still make a huge profit.
But that's my conspiracy prone mind working...
This will be on my "buy" list from now on whenever I go on antique/flea market road trips that's for sure. For the life of me I don't see what's special about that brush???
At that price it should be a rubber you can depend on.
