Nice old pressed horn thing, but I just hope he ain't got hungry kids to feed, or a mortgage he's planning on paying with the proceeds ........
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If you took away the scales. which we cant prove are original, unless George Washington had plastic or bakelite. I cannot see any thing unique in the blade.
School me , I do not see any signs of horn within the carving, or is it a pressing?
Lastly we could google who it was made for. But it wasnt Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin. Thats my observations, if I spoke in error please educate me.Your only as good as your last hone job.

You never can tell. I saw one on the bay last year I think that went for almost 1200.00. I believe it had been reconditioned. I know I wouldn't but then i'm new at this.

Lay be the same guy who was selling the reaper that had a different blade on it , he would think this was worth 3500.00. Tc

Yeah, $3500. and free shipping. But did you read down lower that they ship the cheapest way in the US. For that price I'd want it hand delivered, if not insured and signed for at delivery. He should change his name to Mr Farce.

Yeah I was studying the blade as well to see if there was any etching or stamping on the actual blade itself. i was so ready to attack the seller, because it seems like he or she iis justifying the pices based on scales only. BUT, BUT I do love the jimps on a Wade & Butcher. I haven't personally seen one like that before so my highest bid would be $3,400. Just my thoughts
lol
