Wade & Butcher CORP.
Hej!
I stumbled across an interesting razor on the Bay. It a Wade & Butcher but it has some other markings as well. I'm curious, is it a Wade a Butcher as we know it from Sheffield? On one side of the tang it reads Wade & Butcher CORP. Jersey City. N.J. U.S.A. and on the other side Blade forged in Sheffield, England. Also on one side of the scale you can see some of the arrow and the B, along with the word SPECIAL. Everything points in the right directions right? But i've never seen these markings before.

That's interesting, I've never seen one like that. It was later on (hence the "England") but I guess they must have incorporated later on...? Maybe it was just for American distribution?

Wade and Butcher was seemingly bought out by Durham at the end. Some American-made DE's and such were made. I have not seen but a few of these razors, but suspect they were made by another American maker with the acquired moniker stamped.
If they had actually geared-up to produce straights in the U.S., there would seem to be more out there.
The razor does not say 'Sheffield' to me, yet is says Sheffield! Could be wrong, I suppose!

I rest my case.
