Heh, I thought it was a pic of a different razor at first.

Thanks to everyone. It looks like this one is a better example of the 2255 double cockoo: NOS Paul Waldmin Double Cuckoo, 5/8 Gulliver #2255 Straight Razor | ESQ. boutique

IMHO: Would have been a nice addition, but not nice enough to buy a damaged one and restore it. Though it is kind of low price, it is not a gift, and it is not something with a sentimental value either.

    Will let it go...

    Probably a smart move.

Poor pics can sometimes be on purpose to hide damage. On one occasion, we saw a very poorly executed photoshop concealing a large crack in a blade.

If I have this right, you wanted to purchase the razor in the link with the serrated blade ? $490.00 is not expensive ? What would it be a nice addition to ? There is nothing to restore. It would not even be a good letter opener.

These aren't US dollars. Unsure of the currency but it is a fraction of that

    Argentine peso to US dollar x 0.11 = $53.90
    Argentine peso to Canadian dollar x 0.14 = $68.60

    Those are Argentine Pesos (ARP).

I was tempted just because I was basically in doubt regarding the serrated blade. If I arrange to meet the seller personally I could check before closing the deal. I decided against this so far.

We have two different exchange rates: The official (legal) one is about 9 to 1 ARP/USD. It is not easy to get dollars at that rate. The free (illegal) one is about 15 to 1. In any case we are quite far from the USD 490.-

I usually browse mercadolibre.com.ar with "navaja de afeitar", but not sure what for. I am not a collector and I already own one, but usually enjoy juggling with things. Used to do this with fountain pens, now I have a bunch of them (not even certain about their value, or models in most cases). That's why I wouldn't collect stamps, or coins for example; I prefer things to work on, or to be used.

    Rgds.

    I agree.

Most of us would be embarrassed to much such a offer.
