I am sure I was bidding against some of you!
I won this razor today:
I have a similar one that was more used but is a great shaver, so I saw this and wanted it since it looks to be in great condition. Apparently, so did a bunch of others since there were a total of 23 bids and I ended up spending almost $50 on it...
it it will be honed up and added to the rotation as soon as I get it

I may have been bidding against some of you, but I was set on this one. Good battle. My first japanese straight, Kukuboshi:

Thanked: 169Those tiny wedge blades take some of the best edges of any western straight. You can pretty much push them as far as your stones and skillset will allow.

Thanked: 315I know you weren't bidding against me. I'm selling right now instead of buying!
Blade looks like it is good shape. Any rust at the pivot?
Never heard of Salamander before, of course that is true of many, many SR companies. I have a Kinfolks that says 'WEDGE' on it and has a similar shaped handle. I guess several companies did that. I really need to get it honed. I bet it would be a good shaver as well. I don't know why they emphasize 'wedge' so much when they aren't even near wedges though.

I didn't see any rust in the pictures, if there is any it's not much! I have really gotten to like the small wedge or near wedge razors, and am looking forward to getting it into the rotation

Man, you really think so? I hope so.. the price was good in the end, but as you know, my knowledge is limited and I can never tell with ebay. I got burnt more than once. I am actually looking forward to trying the seller's edge, since it's advertised as shave ready. That's always interesting for me.
