Col Conk website has a brand new 6/8 half hollow with red scales on sale for $60 shipped. It will need to be honed to shave ready but at that price.

My order still says "processing". So mine is not on it's way to Texas. In all fairness though, 90% of anything I buy online or in a brick and mortar store is either defective, delayed, or cancelled. Just the cards I was dealt in life.

As these are not shave ready, what would you expect to have to do to the blade? Set the bevel starting with a 1k stone, or just refresh with an 8k and 12k?

No need to set the bevel. Just refreshing from 4-5k,8k,12k.
