If you take a look at the bidding history it was the first bid placed a week ago. I think that's what's called fair market valuation - plenty of time and exposure, just nobody wanted to go higher.

Thanked: 4821Deals come and deals go. I have watched a few of them. When I was very new to straight razors I looked and watched a lot. I had a C-MON Cadilac, the new model made by Dovo and watched many NOS vintage ones on the bay for far less money than my new model. Try and find one now. There was also a seven day set with a nice box that went for next to nothing, under a hundred dollars. It was hard to research because you could not read the manufactures name in the add all you could see was a log of a cat in a tree. I know now that it was a set of Revisor razors and each one was worth more than the set. It is good to see that they still happen. It makes it worth watching and looking knowing that a big deal could be just around the corner. The thrill of the hunt is still strong.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 90I am happy someone got a steal. I just had to much going on in other deals so I had to watch it go for so little. I thought about it hard though. I have too much I all ready need to sell don't need 5 more barber hones.

I saw those hones,,, but also notice 1 seemed to have a crack that almost ran the length of the stone,,, 2 were strop/hones that 1 of them needed a lot of work & neither had a shot of the leather side. I would not have paid that for them. But I'm picky,, I guess.

Thanked: 118Oh man, one of the hones is from "Champion Cutlery Co., Nashville, Tenn". I live in Nashville and would have loved to get that hone. I am also always on the lookout for razors marked "Nashville, Tenn". I do realize most, if not all, will have been made in Solingen and just marked Nashville because they were made-to-order for sale in local stores but still it appeals to me.
