Thank-you Gents, Valery will be honing this one, he's done lots of these. I always thought these were more for head shaving, but I've seen many here so I put a single bid on this one, being that it is NOS - didn't expect to win it.

But I have an open mind, and will give it a try.

Here are some more close ups of the Kamisori:

    Nice one!
I have a good few kamisoris and are all wonderful shavers and I don't doubt your Zubora will be the same.
Yazuki steel is made the same way as Tamahagane but uses modern methods.

I hope you will love it.

    Very nice Kamisori, Phrank.

If you advertise in the classifieds, will you have to stamp out the "NEW" and replace with "OLD"?

Well, that's what they were designed to do. I don't know if any subsequent changes appeared after people started shaving their face with it, though. But with the Japanese being suckers for tradition, I doubt it has changed much.

I have one for variety, but I rarely use it. I seem to suck at stropping it, I put one or two good nicks on my strop with it . I use it the traditional way (non-stamp side to face) exclusively, because otherwise, what's the point? A spike point, har.

Nice score! Edges look spot on still with the bevel on the back and all.
I picked up a couple, for variety as well, tend not to reach for them often, due mostly to the shorter length. But a great change of pace.
Look forward to your review once received as well.

It looks like a nice blade! I have almost bid on a number of these, but I don't want a razor that I won't use and I would have to be in the right mood to try somthing that different...
As said, please give us a shaving report!
