    You won that? That's awesome. I think it would look way better with a satin finish on the faces and polish tang and spine. All that size likes contrast.

    A monster W&B went for $800 plus a couple weeks ago. Interesting to watch, but more than I am willing to spend on a razor.
    Smarter than I look or, not as dumb as I look. Whichever you prefer.

    Unrestored, wostenholms will be 4-650, 7-9 done well, probably another 100-200 on top depending on maker. Assuming good steel and original grinds... This is online obviously. All bets are off in the wild.

    I once heard a collector of some note refer to this phenomena of the current infatuation and monetary inflation of huge blades as buying "razors by the pound".

    I look at it more as the really rare, cool stuff has been sussed out via the internet. That goes for safety razors also.

    There's plenty of cool, rare, old razors going through ebay all the time. Good thing for people like me, everybody seems distracted by the other stuff...

    @cheetahmeatpheonix
    More power to ya my friend. I would love to have I but mainly for collector reasons. I would have to at least take it for a test drive though. It was definitely a price to pay but then again a one of a kind. I'm glad it went to a good home.

    I personally go for restoration platforms when I buy huge sheffields. Even when I pay for a full restoration I save money in the end.
