Default A monster in the rough...

Just won this lot yesterday on the bay. It includes a Keen Kutter in box (not shown out of box, a Koken "Blue Steel" (think zoolander), a "Dagger Razor that looks like it was used to chip ice.

Amongst all of these is a monster medieval looking Joseph Elliot that the seller described to be as, "a little over an inch width the whole length of the blade." He also verified that the blade is not cracked and is only a scuff in the picture.

The other blades are 4/8 and 5/8 to show size comparison. Should be interesting to see what I get. This will be my first 8/8+ razor.

And the fun fact. $32 got it all. Non Butcher Sheffield is always slept on

That's a big old blade! No doubt has seen plenty of hones over the years and hope it turns out to be a good one for you.

That makes two of us. For the low price, it's worth the gamble.

It definitely needs some new scales. I usually don't like my scales looking like breadsticks!

    Thank you sir.

Still up in the air if it's going to be of Horn or Hardwood media. I guess I can't really say until it's in hand.

    Scale making time.

I ordered some horn, but for now I'm going to play around with a less traditional design just for fun.

Just a mockup. Scales will be finished with CA. Brass rod/washers.
