Ok, what am I missing here. This auction here sounded similar to the scenerio you talked about. However, there was a bid placed after it hit $3507. So why would someone pay $3757 for a $200 razor??? Holy smokes, this ebay stuff is getting ridiculous!
Look for a re-list on that sucker. No way high bidder or back-up second chance bidder pays up.

Razor is currently at $700. Idiot1 figures he'll guarantee a winning bid by putting in a high bid of $3507--he doesn't want to pay that much but knows eBay will put him over anyone else's last minute snipe and he will win. Enter Idiot2, who intended to use the exact same strategy but with a slightly higher bid of say, $1,000,000. Again, he does not plan on paying that much but he knows it will guarantee his win.

As soon as Idiot1 places his bid, he becomes the high bidder at $750 and he sits there as the high bidder right up until Idiot2 enters his bid, thinking he will win the razor for somewhere around $760-$800, not realizing that there already was an idiot in the game.

Ebay should block both of those idiots or else for the winner to pay.
Absolutely should be blocked. Its not fair to the seller or the legitimate bidders of this item. They should make them pay or be banned from Ebay. But of course no such thing will happen. The seller should at least block them from bidding on the relisted item.

Unfortunately the seller is the one getting hosed and wasting his time. This is EXACTLY why I don't put in a super high bid that i'm not willing to pay. I'll over pay for something I want (as I intended to) but I'm not going to bid more than i'm willing to spend. The buyer should have to fork it over or have his account locked. Stupid is as stupid does.

Well I have another to add to the list. A seller messaged me but the app shows no new messages, I know this because my email shows where he sent the message. I relaunched the app after force killing to see if it would resync n refreah my messages but nodda. I logged into the website and there sat the new message

Anyone with an account there feel like sending them a link to this thread in an email to their support staff?? They certainly could learn several issues in short order...
